Dr. Derek Yaple-Schobert
Né aux États-Unis mais basé à Montréal depuis l'âge de 6 ans, le Dr Derek Yaple-Schobert s'est produit dans sept pays et a remporté des prix au Concours national Eckhardt-Gramatté, aux Journées de la musique française, aux Finales nationales du Concours de musique du Canada, Festival de musique classique de Montréal et Prix d'Europe (Prix de la meilleure interprétation d'une œuvre canadienne). Il a également reçu des subventions du Conseil des Arts du Canada et du Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec. BRAVO! La télévision a présenté Yaple-Schobert sur The Classical Now mettant en vedette «Le meilleur de la prochaine génération de musiciens classiques canadiens» et le magazine torontois The Whole Note a qualifié le CD Edvard Grieg de Yaple-Schobert de «délice!» . Avec une bourse complète, le Dr Yaple-Schobert a reçu un doctorat en interprétation de piano de l'Université de Montréal, étudiant avec Marc Durand et Jean Saulnier. Il a également étudié au Royal College of Music en Suède, à la Maurice Ravel Academy en France, au Taubman Institute of Piano à New York, à la Hartt School of Music, au Banff Centre et à l'Orford Arts Centre. Les enseignants sont Michel Beroff, Luiz de Moura Castro, Edna Golandsky, Marek Jablonski, Irene Mannheimer, Georges Pludermacher, Lone Rhodes, Dorothy Taubman, Mats Widlund et Anne Øland. Avec la connaissance continue de ce que l'on ressent du côté apprentissage du piano, le Dr Yaple-Schobert donne des ateliers avec enthousiasme et sensibilité aux pianistes en herbe de tous âges.

He also studied at the Royal College of Music in Sweden, Maurice Ravel Academy in France, Taubman Institute of Piano in NYC, Hartt School of Music, Banff Centre and Orford Arts Centre. With the continual knowledge of what it feels like to be on the learning side of the piano, Dr. Yaple-Schobert enthusiastically and sensitively gives workshops to aspiring pianists of all ages.

Dr. Anna Szpilberg
A native of Poland, Anna Szpilberg has concertized throughout Europe and North America in solo recitals and concerts with orchestra and chamber music ensembles. These include: guest artist on tour with members of the Fine Arts Quartet; joint recitals with violinists Marie Anick Nicolas and Vladimir Landsman; guest soloist at the Gina Bachauer International Competition Festival and two solo tours of Poland at the invitation of the Frederic Chopin Society. The latter included a filmed documentary, a nationally televised concert from Chopin's home at Zelazowa Wola and a complete piano recital recorded for Polish National Radio.A recipient of a Canada Council Artist Award, Anna Szpilberg was featured in two documentary films on the Leonardo Project: Beyond 2000 for Australian Television aired in 82 countries and Shaping the Invisible for the Discovery Channel (Canada) Her CD: Shaping the Invisible features the music of Bach-Busoni, Scarlatti, Granados, de Falla and Ravel. Her Doctoral Thesis,”Timing the Muse: Creating the musical experience, expressively directed micro-timing and the pianist’s signature voice”, dedicated to Prof. Phil Cohen,is aimed at establishing the groundwork for the development of a general theory of human performance. Ms. Szpilberg considers Prof. Phil Cohen her primary musical and pedagogical influence. As a member of Concordia University’s Department of Music Anna has, over the years taught piano and chamber music as well as the repertoire and literature of performance at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. In her capacity as Artist-in-Residence in the University's Leonardo Research Project she has participated in numerous on stage explorations into high level musical performance.

La pianiste-chef Teresa Tang possède un studio de piano très fréquenté à Markham. Elle est la fondatrice et directrice artistique de Mellow Singers (Toronto), et aussi fondatrice et directrice musicale de Hong Kong Ardent Chorale. Madame Tang a présenté des classes de maître de piano et des ateliers de chorale à Hong Kong et à travers le Canada, et a statué dans des festivals de piano et de chorale à Montréal et à Toronto. Mme Tang a étudié le piano à l'Université McGill où elle a obtenu un baccalauréat en musique et a ensuite obtenu sa maîtrise en direction d'orchestre à l'Université de Toronto. Elle a été récipiendaire de la bourse honoraire de la Fondation Bruno Walter Memorial et de la bourse d'études du Hong Kong Children's Choir Education, et deux fois récipiendaire de la Graduate Fellowship de l'Université de Toronto. She is the founder and artistic director of Mellow Singers (Toronto), and founder and music director of Hong Kong Ardent Chorale. Ms Tang has also presented piano master classes and choral workshops in Hong Kong and across Canada, and has adjudicated in piano and choral festivals in Montreal and Toronto. Ms Tang studied piano performance at McGill University earning a Bachelor of Music degree, and later received her Master of Music in Conducting at University of Toronto. She was a recipient of the honorable Bruno Walter Memorial Foundation conducting scholarship and the Hong Kong Children's Choir Education Scholarship, and a twice recipient of the University of Toronto Graduate Fellowship. While at U of T, Ms Tang served as the Assistant Conductor of the renowned MacMillan Singers and the University Women’s Chorus. As a piano and vocal coach, Teresa has been enthusiastic in studio teaching. She has taught students both privately and in conservatories since 1994, with a specialization in teaching diploma level students. She hopes that she can inspire artistic excellence, and enrich her students' spiritual lives through music sharing. Ms Tang served as music consultant in the Programs for the Gifted and Talented under the Faculty of Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, was the lecturer at the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuous Education, and held conducting post with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir. She was invited by the Pentecostal Lam Hon Kwong School from 2003 to 2006 to develop a high school choral education programme with great success.

Il est un pianiste très recherché pour les concerts solo et d'ensemble. Il a également été régulièrement invité à enregistrer pour Radio 4, RTHK. Wong was awarded the Jardine Matheson and McGill music faculty scholarships. Between 1995-1999, he taught piano, chamber music and was a vocal coach at McGill music faculty. He appeared as soloist with the McGill Symphony Orchestra, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal and worked as a repetiteur for L’Opera de Montreal. Wong also performed in the Rome Chamber Music Festival in Italy, and in Asia including the Mainland, Macao and Taiwan. He is a much sought-after pianist for both solo and ensemble concerts. He has also been invited regularly to record for Radio 4, RTHK. Currently, he teaches at the music faculty of the HKAPA, Hong Kong Baptist University, School of Continuing Education and Professional Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Education University of Hong Kong. 2018 also marks the 11th year of his successful piano students’ concert “Music and Friends”. Apart from being a concert artist, he composes and recorded the music for the movie soundtrack of A Tale of Three Cities, 2015. He participates in theatre acting, dialect coaching and voice-over for movie productions.
